Another dream that never comes trueA Poem by Devisree AnoopA few lines on how intertwined are we to the elctronic gadgetsI woke up from my journey Half-way through the moon lit path Another beautiful dream the tweets broke Not from my garden birds But from the push notifications. I started another new day with my phone in hand My best companion since over a decade, He shows me the real world so virtual, Reminds me the day, date, time and their relevance Takes me close to my beloved ones So close but hearts far away in the real world. He buys me food, clothes and places to dwell He charts my days, nights and trips around Directs even the tiny gestures I make We are so emotionally interlaced That I forgot I am another human on earth. But now I wish to ditch my friend Amidst the long harbored resentments On living another person’s life Travelling destinations I never wanted to These days I dream an adieu With this closest friend of mine But I know for sure that every now and then It is just another dream that never comes true. © 2019 Devisree Anoop |
