Inevitable

Inevitable

A Poem by TheChosenOne
"

While looking at a tree outside my school. It was very beautiful, full of leaves. But around it was the bustling city. That's when I realized how bad the crisis of deforestation had gotten.

"

From a sapling to an oak,

With a trunk thick and tall,

Adorned with green patterns full of life,

Rusting to the wind's whispering call,

Right in the middle of the city, so big,

Where people come to stay and work,

Growth of buildings and roads and homes,

The turning the cool, clear air to murk.

Boundaries change, spreading out,

The edge of the city reaches the oak,

There's not much time left here now,

To bathe in the warmth of the yellow's soak.

And then come the cars with their long, sharp cutters,

The sound of wood splinter and fall,

Goodbye, oh Earth, I'll be back again,

To spread my beauty and answer your call.
