Looking Down

Looking Down

A Poem by DiamondNRough AKA Patty Rase Hopson

I always wondered how

it could be so easy for

you to always find money

laying around on the ground.

When you have no self respect

to hold your chin up, to look others

in the eye.  You have no choice

but hang your head low and

see only what lies below.

Enjoy your pennies found only

on the ground.

The GOLD your loosing

sits high above the ground.
