Anxiety

Anxiety

A Poem by Dianne S Penfold
"

We all have those moments when we are caged by our fears and anxieties. I pray that love reaches us when we fall into the abyss.

"
Darkness grabs at your shaking feet,
Thick black fog blankets your eyes,
Irregular heart skipping beats,
as the fear infiltrates your very breath.

your panicked lungs reach out for air,
The silence plays haunting notes in the damp atmosphere,
agony swirls around your heels beautifully trapping you.

Chest tightens, Eyes widen, Your longing tongue tasting its own sweet blood.
Knees weakened, passion like poison racing through each vein, colliding with your nightmares,
the insanity remains.

Anxiety welling up as the dense sphere in your throat drops to your hollow core,
You find yourself wanting more.
Freedom might be better your reasoning mind repeats,
but your heart clings to it's cruel master,
refusing to let go.
