The Wretched Sister of the Moon

The Wretched Sister of the Moon

A Poem by D. Nelson
"

very hard to describe... when the sun beats on your back and it seems as if it is only you and her... her unrelenting tallons never leaving the back of your neck.

"

From the moment I step beyond my door,

the passive aggressively placed life giver is upon me,

she sits,

perched,

from the second she sees me I feel violated,

betrayed,

crossed,

stripped and searched,

spraying my back with unwanted infringing marks of false identity,

I don’t see how this pushy w***e in the sky gives the lost any serenity,

her beauty never questioned simply labeled as supreme,

but only because she shines iridescent rays of dishonor...

so she remains unseen,

hidden ever behind masks of false dignity,

giving life where it was not asked,

and demanding respect where it was not earned,

disregard for her wicked existence and she leaves you burned,

her lashing tongue of despair...

scraping your skin stinging it bare,

until it shreds and falls to the earth...

so as you resemble the true snake she was since her wretched birth.

Unwanted ambiguity she speaks,

the weak cower in their homes at the hour of her peak,

and at the end of each day she dies,

from her absence in the skies,

it would seem forever to last,

but she is only to return so she begins to surmise...

Planing her escape to this world anew

Until just below the soft horizon she lies,

using the expansive ocean as her unwitting disguise,

and from the moment she mocks me wishes it was just after her rise,

but I have no regard for her so I sleep,

not fearing her impending rape of illumination,

I’ve grown accustomed to her degradation,

and every morning she begins her stalk,

until she catches me weak and throws me on her self baked sidewalk,

ripping the shirt from my back and stinging my skin,

oh how she wishes I would acknowledge her sin.
