A New Hope

A New Hope

A Poem by D. Nelson
"

The election draws too a close and some are left wondering but others are assured that a new era of prosperity and change is upon us

"

Benevolence crept slowly over the horizon from the midst of disarray

Aftermath of an era torn by hate pushes forth hope for a world distraught

Ravaged remains of the hope that once propagated society thirst for the waters of change

Any man or woman or child with eyes can see that progress must be had

Careful for whom you listen to and even more of who you trust

Kansas, sound familiar? When all the dust has settled and this day ends, you won't be there anymore.

Oblivion can wait for another day as hope finally draws near
Blasphemous hate propaganda cannot sway a public who thirsts for truth

And only the results of a systems struggle will show the outcome today

Many say that results will be stunted and ballots will be thrown away

Any number of treacherous deeds may be done, but those who feel the heart beat of a nation...

will know the truth...

no matter the outcome by the end of this historic day.
