Intruder Alert

Intruder Alert

A Poem by Dina
"

Intruder Alert ** Self explanatory ;)

"

I left you long before my body could.
Your silence, as sharp as the shank of a knife.
Your language as dark as the peak of the night.
I was loving something. . not someone.
And everyday I was forced to search for a heart beat.
I was forced to search for proof that we were one in the same.
I was searching for the you that you first presented to me.
The man full of wit. The mark of a king.
How foolish of me.
Couldn't I see that it was all a day dream?
You wonderful shape shifter, you.
Getting past my defenses and leaving me boundariless.
And though you left my home vacant, I am still sure to lock the gates.
For I could not take the thought of facing another intruder.

Gee
Into the mind and heart, they take what is yours and what they want, then they leave slowly, painfully.....then only memories, heartache and bitterness. Enjoyed this very much
