The Glass House

The Glass House

A Poem by Dina
"

When you run from your lessons, you meet them over and over again.

"

You like closeness, so you open up quickly to me.
I like holding on to things, so I open slowly.
Nights like this we keep each other company,
to make up for the heartbreak that left us lonely.
You say my soul feels familiar, don't you see that yours does too?
Could've sworn the last I saw of you was when you left too soon.
You had me questioning my morals,
wondering if I could somehow renew it all.
But somehow you knew that I lost you before.
I felt regret in your spirit.
I felt the guilt, I could hear it through the walls.
Next to the writings I left you.
We are both hopeless romantics.
Call it twin flames
Since we so heavily engage in the cat and mouse game.
I saw your passion revive the last you came.
Climbing on top of your mountain, just to climax and change... paces.
Cause you pull back when I'm naked.
You'd rather chase what you can't get.
And I'd rather maintain this bliss factor.
Oh, we're so different.
But we handle it with poise.
I love how arguments are handled without any noise.
You tackle my frustrations while I only heighten yours.
Because through arguments is how I check if you still care.
But you only care when I'm distant.
I got you naked right there.
You're afraid of repeating the past.
You're afraid of becoming attached.
You're afraid that I'll make you relapse.
And I'm cool with that.
That is no problem.
Cause I'm not much better than that.
I always get too attached.
I'll probably make you relapse.
You're right.
But for the night, can we just turn off the lights.
I want to make you feel right again.
