Target

Target

A Poem by Dina

Everyday I wake up, there's a number over my head

People near and far conspire together to see who can get the job done

"How will we make this clean and quiet?

Let's sneak in a food allergy?

Assisted suicide? I can be a bully.

Or let's get her overseas, and drown her.

Let's cut off her wifi and disconnect her routers.

Let's get her 'parents' to work on the inside.

And if she dare comes outside, we'll have the boys in blue with their lights on.

Is there anything we can book her for? Any criminal record? Or mental health rapport?

Or we can find creepy guys to hound her. Or stalk her online, subtle threats should freak her out.. yeah.

Lets label her a domestic terrorist and get the military on ourside.

If we all ban together, no one will question our alibi.

Because no one cares about a black woman's life.

Plus once she's gone, we'll get to share a hefty price."
