Sunrise

Sunrise

A Poem by Meaghan M

From black velvet skies that cover the night,

It comes from the east with colors burning bright.

While the world dreams in a slumber so deep,

The trees and birds awake from their peaceful sleep.

The sky goes from black then to pink and to blue,

And the grass begins to glisten with the fresh morning dew.

No matter in summer, autumn, winter, or spring,

There is little that can compare to what this sight can bring.

And the world continues on so quiet and still,

As the sun slowly rises over a distance hill.
