Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Essentially we prejudge with the outward

Appearances we are exposed to

Unintentionally hurting ones feelings

Through the gestures of compliments we

Yearn to receive

 

Becomes the thing we depend on

Eventually creating shallow mentality

Along with the belief of

Unnatural beauty being

The best way to impress

Yet not knowing that true

 

Beauty is held with the natural oils

Evenly spread

Among the body being

Unbelievably shown

Through true colors of the human being

Yelling straight at us

Please forgive, but of the six pieces of yours I have read thus far,this is the first which simply does not work for me. The concept is very intriguing, but for some reason, I was not able to bring it home and tuck it into my heart.

Something not working with the cut and paste, either on the site, or in my computer...I will try again tomorrow. Short version: First line is a cliche; several other times the lines break at unnatural points; I don't fathom the meaning you're going for with the line, " beauty is held with the natural oils,
evenly spread among the body..." Sorry i can't be more specific, and don't take it too hard--it's just one man's opinion, and an old white guy can hardly be expected to know the heart of a young black woman, now can he?

I was going for more of letting people know that beauty isnt valued as it should be these days. Women are always trying to enhance their selves for what? Plastic surgery, make up, weave, etc.
