Self explanatory by the title

Misguided Gentleman

 

Feeling misunderstood

Thinks he is alone

He allows himself to be pushed around

Thinking he owes somebody something

But in reality, he does not

Always getting the short stick

Trying to do something with his life

Along the way getting distracted

He may not notice them at first

But in time he will see

But then again, are they?

They are his stepping stones

To his future, the mistake is

Not giving this young man a chance

A wise observation on something that I think a lot of us can relate to. Low self esteem and self doubt are very difficult obstacles to overcome, and even if the stepping stones are clearly visible, one may be afraid to use them. This insight comes from my own shakey journey through life.

Yea the experiences around me help to inspire poetry because I think some people experiences need to be shared so others can not fall into the same thing

i have been through this also...nothing several years of therpay couldn't help a little bit...not sure how much...

but we listen to the wrong people for too long...and we lose faith in ourselves and our ability to be successful.

i like this piece a lot.

I've seen situations in life just like this so many times. You know someone has the heart of gold and so much to give.. is the problem with them and the way they deal with certain situations or is it society? Have we stopped looking at each other.. xo Nice write.

Ya its about one of my cousins friends and everyone in that little group make him feel stupid and like he owes them. And I am always telling him that he doesn't and if he is going to do something he needs to seperate himself sometimes.
