Anticipation

Anticipation

A Poem by Dominique Lambright
"

Anticipating a moment to come

"

Anticipation

Met in 2nd grade

Crushes developed

They made it official

On and off three years

So young yet so aware

Some claimed they were in love

Too soon to tell

5th grade came and it ended

One moved away by force

As of today…

Still close friends

Six going on seven years separate

No visual contact

Only pictures

And brief conversations

Yet feelings are still strong

Unexpected

But it’s clearly seen

Endless conversations

Talking as if they never missed a beat

On each others minds

Wondering what it means

Where it may lead

Its mind altering but

Only time will tell

So let the anticipation begin…
