A Poem by Donna DeLong Matthews aka Gold Pen Ghost

Recover My Soul

I am once again drawn to waters edge
but tonight I find no peace
The inner turmoil and unrest
like an angry sea with no release

My soul is battered and tossed about
like a ship on an angry wave
Nothing in which to cling or steady
Wondering is there anything left to save

Will there ever be acceptance
of my battered soul
Or will the price I'm forced to pay
always be too great a toll

To come full face
is now my greatest fear
Will I be met with rage
or a single regretful tear

I stand upon the shore
searching the nothingness
Im a disappearing ship
on a sea of darkness

Too many days
of no sun upon my face
Too many nights
my thoughts do retrace

I search for what
I can not find
I find what I wish
to not remind

I fear I am Lost
Yet I fear to be found
I fear to open my heart
and hear its ripping sound

My precious Savior
make me once again whole
Show me ... Help me...
Recover my Soul

A sad yet beautiful piece. I love the picture and as you tend to do you have once again made it flow with such imagery and feeling. You pull at my heart strings with your words. super job. ;0
