Another Father's Day

Another Father's Day

A Poem by Donna
"

Another Father's Day without my Dad.

"

Another Father's Day without my Dad.

He was such an amazing Dad, if only

everyone realized the way I did.

It was hard for him to talk, but the

look in his eyes told me everything.

I will never forget the way he

squeezed my hand the last day

I ever saw him.

He was so strong and held on to his

last moment.

Nobody deserves to be in pain,

like he was.

Even though I miss him so much,

I'm glad he is no longer in pain.

We do miss the people we love. With old age coming. I know I need to spend time with kids and the grandchildren. Time is our greatest wealth. You honored your father's memory with your words.

You are welcome Donna.
This was really nice..I hope that wherever he is now he must be happy to see your caring and love for him..A beautiful tribute..I liked the way you said that he didn't talk much but his eyes told you everything..
Keep on writing...

WOW! This is the ultimate expression of caring & compassion. Even tho you are showing us a word portrait of your dad, what really comes across & bowls over the reader is the way you show us YOU! Not in a pretentious way in the least, seemingly without any realization of how YOU are coming across. But your sweet sincerity & empathy are so honest & pure, it practically bowls me over! Beautiful tribute to your dad & I'm sorry he's not with you in the physical sense (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Nice to have memories of your dad.I for sure do. I miss my dad everyday. He was a strong man a real man. He will always be loved and anyways be missed. From reading this here I know you loved your dad and he did you as well. Keep those good memories and smile when you think of them. I watched my dad to the very end I spent the last night with him and the next day he was gone. I know how you feel. I say cheers to our fathers
