Sonnet: After-school Cycling

Sonnet: After-school Cycling

A Poem by Stu. T.H.

The smell of burned leaves is as cigarette,
Not helping much, the wind's whiskers,
Even though such smog I much detest,
The way it caresses my lips makes it a great kisser,

While cycling around, I found heavens bound,
Laying on roofs while face down, what a teaser,
As I watch leaves turn without a sound,
I realized wind is too, a lady pleaser,

Viewing the sun from a distant angle,
I saw in her my late fantasies,
Then I remembered the lasses I praised to be angels,
The thought brings me back to great dynasties,

It's a great time to be cycling around, this season,
I just wish it didn't have to remind me of other lives where I'm no peasant.

I just wanna brag that I've only learned how to ride a bicycle over a month back, it took 30 minutes, but I am proud to be a driver now.

The wind has whiskers and I loved your whimsical presentation of it. This is an interesting poem and I could feel the scene, the leaves flying, the wind blowing, the relaxed after school feeling, cycling around. It took me days to learn cycling so I'm impressed you did it in 30 minutes. Congrats. I enjoyed this poem and the beautiful imagery.
