Sonnet: When Rain Flies

Sonnet: When Rain Flies

A Poem by Stu. T.H.
"

Inspired by "Chiều nay không có mưa bay" (There is no rain flying by this evening), by Châu Minh Tuấn.

"
Under the Eastern skies, when Rain flies,
I reminisce in that youthful love that never blossomed,
With a girl so beautiful, yet so shy,
Under the Rain, which flushes out all the make ups and perfume,

I saw her in her earnest beauty, and to my delight,
She didn't reject me, or call me out on my boyish eagerness,
Under the roof of that bus stop station, there was light,
Of a budding romance that was fashioned in sweetness,

But as fate had its way with me, she and I parted ways,
Bitterly I choked myself with a sense of my manhood and dared not to cry,
Still, I would never forget what happened that day,
Of the possibly most romantic love in my youthful stories, about her and I,

So every now and then when rain flies across the sky,
So calmly, like tapping, they remind myself that I too am a human, and I may cry.
