My love for you was so strong,

Warm, bright and beautiful.

Like a hot Summers day.

Now my heart breaks.

Pieces falling slowly.

Like the crimson Autumn leaves.

Our adventures and memories.

Slowly crumble.

Like an amber leaf on the ground.

I'm left standing, bare,

Grey and alone.

Like a silver birch in Winter.

Only with strength, time and hope.

I'll once again feel the energy and promise of new.

Like a fresh Spring morning.
