The Rift.

The Rift.

A Poem by The Guerrilla Warhol
"

I've been reading Carlos Castaneda. If you question the world around you, you should be, too.

"

This body has a mind, but there is mutiny afoot.

A schism in the bloodstream, and filters in the synapses,

stretch to oppose reality and calcify the extraordinary.

Your body is a mere interpretation of who you are.

Your mind is that of a god, and you bring to life

precisely that which is in harmony with the hum in your gut.

You are Genesis.

This is Revelation.

Seek to find, do not mime.

Be resolute, but not stubborn.

Aqcuire clarity within,

but do not stop to question,

for clarity is the beginning of knowledge.

Behold your power, but remain humble,

for power is a snare for the strongminded

cold hearted, a filter for the evil.

Reach old age, but do not die.

Separate the body from the mind.

I read all of the poetry you have up, and this is my favourite. You have some good ideas but I think Castaneda has had a good effect on you. The first staza I love, the separation of mind and body and reality from the extraordinary is very nice and the imagery of "A schism in the bloodstream" is just brilliant.

The Genesis / Revelation shift is excellent too. Are you trying to say that, though godly, your mind has the potential to be wasted or holy?
The last stanza I didn't like as much as the rest of the poem, though I like the portrayal of the thin line between right and wrong and the little mistakes people make, I find it's slightly too resolute for me to identify with.

Overall though, you have some really good poetry and this one is just beautiful. Keep up the good work Guerrilla Warhol. If you'll have me, I think I'll consider joining your Molotov Cocktail group.
