The Devil's in the Derail

The Devil's in the Derail

A Poem by DreamCatcher08
"

A little ditty.

"

The devil brings his train of thought to the busiest of minds,

Especially the most kind. Most selfless. Most divine.

So do try my dear, try,

To keep your thoughts, not on the things I ought nought to do.

Or

The things I don’t do which I probably should, or would,

If my thoughts too, weren’t so consumed.

When he tips his conductors hat and enters your brain,

Point him backwards, to the dark whence he came.

Don’t believe a word he says.

Even if you haven’t spoke for days.

There is no place for his lack of faith,

He is the haze, We are the rays.

Keep your mind on simpler times.

More satisfying rhymes.

On the next good read, or the happiness we find.

When the devil runs away, and it’s just us on the train.

I love this brilliant & original way of telling a story to get across an inspirational message. I dislike it when people do a "rah! rah!" piece, but this doesn't feel like that at all. This really does pick up the reader & take him/her away on a better track. Our minds can be weak & fickle & obsessive, we always have to mind if we've been derailed! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
