Another Moon Poem

Crescent moon

my heart glows with hope at your return.

Fluttering white stars

dance joyful attendance to you

sharing the grace of the indigo sky.

Begin again.

Carrying yourself elegant and aloof

each night you grow and fill with light.

Shining on my pillowed head,

your journey peaks.

My dreams rise to fullness

a wish is made,

expands and swells

in my basket of hope.

A flash of release,

My wish is gathered into Moon’s promise

held to her heart.

Turning low into her indigo cloak

She releases my dreams into the depths

of the dark moonless tide.

Begin again.

A silver of light.

The door opens.

Liquid breath spills from the basket

bathing me in its nectar.

The wish becomes me.

Begin again.

A new wish is born from the cup of the last.

Growing with Moon’s hope,

it folds into her pull

to blossom within her turning silence,

to be carried into the darkness

to begin again.
