Where Is Alone

 

There is that place, that little place inside,

the one you want to run to, but instead turn from and hide.

Where is alone?

There is that emptiness around you, when you look and no one's there,

when you try to ignore your surroundings, yet you know you're fully aware.

Where is alone?

There is that time, when you really need to talk,

really need to hold his hand, or go for a quiet walk.

Where is alone?

I open my eyes, and look directly to that place,

and instead of hiding, look directly in it's face.

And there is alone.

I stop what I'm doing, and look all around me,

yes I am aware, that there is something there.

It must be alone.

There will be no walk today, no one's hand to hold,

and suddenly instead of warmth, I feel only cold.

Welcome Alone.

Yep,

Little shadowy, not too bad though. Poems on being lonely and alone seems to run the gamut in here. I suppose it's a common thread. I like the simple style, not too abstract.....an easy read with strong undercurrents. I will try to read/review more later, Good Job!

I don't find it to be dark at all, but definitely full of emotions and intensity.
My favorite lines:
"I open my eyes, and look directly to that place,

and instead of hiding, look directly in it's face.

And there is alone."

It was definitely a sad conclusion, but sometimes, I think we all have to accept being alone. I think that being alone gives us time to truly get to know ourselves and know more about the person we are/want to be/will become.
