Wishes

A Poem by Dressed in Poetry

Experimenting with rhyme.

She wished
Upon the stars
So high above
That she could
Live and die
For romantic love.
She wished
At the same time
Each day
That she could
Find the path –
Find her way.

She wished
That she could
Find one thing
That she loved,
That she owned,
That made her sing.
She wished
For her pessimistic
Urges to flee –
To be able to
Fly away
And just be so free.

She wished
That she could
Help someone
Without having
A secret reason
For having it done.
She wished
That she could
Be defined
Within one thing
That she loved –
Not just confined.

But most of all,
She wished
Upon her shooting star
That she could stop
Wishing and let
Life take her far.
