Hypergraphia Translation

A Poem by Dressed in Poetry

Some days, I do not feel.

Writing, thinking, breathing: I do nothing.

But I remember a time –

How long ago? –

When my writings meant the world.

Poetry occupied all my thoughts and

If I had a free moment, I would be

In my secret place, alone, writing.

But now, there is nothing

That motivates me to sit with a pen

And allow my thoughts to take me away.

Although I miss this period,

I am also more happy today.

I do not have sadness and depression.

My mind is controlled by me,

Not by my emotions.

I am more calm.

But…

Often, I wish to have

The emotions of yesterday, because with

These feelings, I have more

Motivation to write.

I like this poem, alot. It reminds me alot of how i feel when i have rewriters block which does translate, meaning i have no motivation. I often do wish i had the emotions of yesterday, no matter how much they hurt.

Thank you first of all for translating this poem! :) What language was it in originally? Anywho, I understand where you are coming from . I actually stepped away from poetry and writing for a year. (needed some time to "find myself")... this piece was heart felt for me especially because I've been through this before. Thank you for sharing. :)
