The Rain Whispers, I'm Not Me I'm You

The Rain Whispers, I'm Not Me I'm You

A Poem by Sweet & Tender Hooligan
"

A mix of Joy Division & the despair of the way thing's are and are not.

"
A coat of despair housed in affection.
Petals open up, escape and wish to be back as a bud.
When things were simpler, simple things felt like the end of the world
But could be rescued by the tenderest of embraces.

Take care of me. Kill yourself. Destroy the world.
Take care of the children, take care of yourself .
Take care of someone else. Destroy the heart.

Distance shelters us and eats away time but you can't escape your shadow.
You came from my shadow; you came from the mist, you came from despair.
And you wrapped me up in silly faces and puddles, by becoming my den.
Feeling is dust, attachment is blind but belonging is a must.

We're for each other the same way rain falls onto the earth.
We're not born for each other unlike flowers and bees,
We're for each other the same way eyes gaze up at the stars.

Rain whispers, "I'm not me; I'm you. Let me be with you. Let me be me."
Flowered from grief and ruins unable to cry over time
Rain falls tenderly, leaves fall suicidal, all things fall hard
Too many tears cry, "I'm not alone when I'm with you.
Yet I'm more alone when unalone. I'm you, not me."

Life outside my window doesn't know that I am alive.
Everyone's alone like rain. All is emptiness. Everyone's alone.
We shatter like tears, broken soul, bits of everyone we love are our love.
Functions and reactions are blindly bonded. Risen it all falls apart.
Drowned hearts in disillusion, fragiley connect before the tender end.
It's all a bitter start.

a really beautiful stanza that seems to show that part of the human soul that feels terribly alone and dissociated from reality...reminded me of strawberry fields weirdly if it was spliced with a Joy division track...a piece of tender fragile beauty with a bittersweet sad spice.

Sorrowful yet hopeful...we are all alone...love the lines:
"When things were simpler, simple things felt like the end of the world
But could be rescued by the tenderest of embraces."
Lots to think about it this poem and very well written.

Interesting. I like the feel of this. It has a very even pace in some parts, and then in some stanzas its hurried. Nicely written. One of those that leaves the reader to sit and think a moment when they're done.
