|One Good Night|

|One Good Night|

A Poem by A.L.

One good night.
Eyes a little heavy.
Distance a little close.
A blanket far too warm.
One good night.
Hands I’d like to hold.
Trailing fingertips.
That moment when we kissed.
One good night.
Laughter, let it ring.
Y’all rap and then I sing.
A chill, back porch scene.
One good night.
A need to drive away.
But you ask me to stay.
You beg and so I lay.
One good night.
F**k it, I know I’m screwed.
All because that night.
Now I have hope in my sights.
But I know it was just that one good night.
Nothing will be the same in the morning.

I hear a musical tone in your poem. Very interesting description of one good night!

Twisted reality, seemed like a good night but seems to take that twist in the end.

Great read

With love,

Matthew
