Across The Street

Across The Street

A Poem by WayzWithWordz
"

written about a beautiful woman that lives across the street from me

"

Across the Street

Thoughts of you arise in my mind in spurts

As rare as paper cuts but it still hurts

All I can do is stare

And I dare

Not approach you

Even though my friends coach me through

Each step of a potential conversation

I just know I would be doing it out of desperation

So as I walk out of this door

I am greet by the sun

I just look at the house that conceals my crush

But hush

I don’t want the word to get out

Unless the word is coming out of my mouth

So one day I will cross this ocean of cement

With efforts to learn to know you

But at the same time

I know what reality is…

And that is

You will continue to be a goal never pursued

We will just exchange visual love notes

Maybe a smile or two

But I will never have a privilege of getting to know you

We will never meet

We will just continue to be

Two curious souls

Across the street

I loved it.
It reminded me of "You don't know me" by Ray Charles.
I absolutely love the idea of someone watching and wanting.
It's what I hope for.
Great.
