Lone Wolf

Lone Wolf

A Poem by Dy

I stand alone

You left me to rot

Abandoned me to my darkness

To my destruction

You sent these horrors for me to face

Ghosts of my past

Fears in my present

Worries for the future

I can't break free

You trapped me here

I can either fight this for eternity

Or choose the other path

The path that ends in bliss

or eternal misery

Perhaps that is preferable to this

Preferable to the grief

To the loss

I just want the pain to end

I am the lone wolf

Remember?

Please remember

The pack

Why don't you remember?

It was the oldest joke...

Don't leave me to this

Don't let me become this lone wolf

Spare me the pain

I'm begging you

Yes...

Begging...

Wolves have that greatest instinct and wisdom. I know you can move on and find your company...

Sad but well-penned!

Thank you.
The presentation of this piece goes throughout with a certain urgency...as a reader of this work...I would take out the punctuation...at the end of each line and just let the words go...has a better flow and does not pause for the reader to take in --- your despair in the verse...

Thank you for your notes. It actually does flow without all of the punctuation.
