I Will Not Enter

I Will Not Enter

A Poem by E.K.Donaldson

I walked home
I stood at the door
Still I did not enter

Someone walked by
Someone was home
Still I did not enter

The snow fell
The cold crept inside me
Still I did not enter

Am I nothing, but a ghost?
Am I merely a fly?
Still I did not enter

At least a ghost is in your mind
At least a fly is a nuisance
Still I did not enter

It is dark outside
It is dark inside
You lock the door
I will never enter

A poem with mystery and possibilities. I like the tone leaving the reader to figure out the situation in the poetry. A very good ending to the excellent poem. I liked the open ending.
