Flaming Energy

Flaming Energy

A Poem by Edgebrooke

"Reserving my energy is a thoughtful task,
To save myself for when I am asked.
To shine and give my light to a few
And hope they see the value too.
To love is a all consuming flame
That burn and heats the heart all the same
It's a rush, a glow, a slow burning wick,
That ignites souls and sometimes causes a glitch.
When you fall in love, you give it your all
Every laugh, ever tear, every downfall
But when the flame burns out, your left alone,
and the pain can seem like a stone.
So I reserve my heart and take my time,
to avoid the pain that comes with climbing.
I savor the moments and hold myself back."

Cautiously loving, protectively giving. Good flow and rhyme.

Good read.
