Jumbled UP

Jumbled UP

A Poem by Elie Marie

I want to sit here

snuggled up in blankets

comfy comfy blankets

and read

i want to read it all

all the words

and all the feelings

I want to feel it all

soak it up

and think my way through it

and be happy

fall asleep with a smile on myself.

which

is

actually

a possibility

because I have me

and that has to be enough.

But it all gets jumbled

in my head

sometimes.

I lose track

of what's real

and what's not.

My heart

won't lead me astray.

But my head will.

Your head will.

Heads do that,

they get all jumbled up.

"fall asleep with a smile on myself." this really made me smile, a very cosy poem fun to read and easy to relate to as a writer and a fan of writing - well done thanks for sharing

thank you :)
I totally love this. I know exactly how this feels. Especially when I'm writing something. Sometimes, as I hunt for ideas, it all just comes in a rush, and I have to stem the intellectual tide of ideas. I think it is great that you also connected the the power of the heart to this. Thanks for writing!

i have a favorite line ... :)
"fall asleep with a smile on myself."
very enjoyable read .. stellar levels of comfy/cute .. and a great little contrast with the closing lines .. very easy flow in your free verse form!
