The Name's Emilia Svejda

The Name's Emilia Svejda

A Poem by Emilia Svjeda
"

I'm a rainbow girl in love with a cis-het girl

"

The name’s Emilia Svejda.

Duh.

You read the author’s name.

If you didn’t, you’re lame.

Well anyway, who am I, and why am I here?

I’m here to come out and say I’m queer.

More specifically, I’m lesbian.

Not American or a thespian.

Well, sure I am American.

But that doesn’t need to be stated herein.

This poem is about my attraction to a girl.

The kind that makes my head twirl.

She also does that butterfly thing,

And that head-heel reversal thing,

And that breath-stealing thing.

Needless to say, she’s my queen.

Have you ever seen those cartoons?

The ones where the eyes blow up like heart balloons?

Yeah, that’s me when she walks in the room.

It’s because of her aura, I presume.

She’s a 5-foot-2 black-haired menace"

A hottie you just have to witness.

She looks cruel, and her eyes shoot darts.

But she’s a sweetie and always tells me kind remarks.

As for me, I am quite the opposite of her.

I’m a 6-foot-1, reserved, shy-type ginger.

Who let a girl get that tall? I don’t know.

The ache in my knees is a tale of woe.

Worse, the ache in my heart is an earnest tragedy;

She and I will never date happily.

She likes boys and is completely straight.

For rainbow chicks like me, that’s just our fate.

My feelings are a secret. I won’t say a thing.

Except in this poem, but that’s another thing.

What I mean to say is that I won’t tell her I like her.

Unless she reads this online thread, but again, that’s a whole other matter.

If she did read it though, would I be happy?

Well, she’d probably stop being friends with me.

But maybe she’s secretly in the closet.

That’s just wishful thinking, isn’t it?

I’m getting sidetracked.

Let me finish with what this poem lacked.

The name’s Emilia Svejda"Shvay-duh.

I’m gay, duh.

Thank you. I wish you the best yours too.
It's great to open up to someone who knows maybe like you she feels the same just not as brave as you.
Loved the feelings in this poem. Reminds me of my own life and the way I'm struggling with the same feeling. Keep penning, it's really amazing
