The Poet

The Poet

A Chapter by Emily B
"

for Robert, who well deserves the title.

"

He shouts his sins

and shares his scars.

He pounds his fists

against relentless

tomorrows.

He whispers his dreams

and leads us

to the light

he still sees.

I am beyond honored by this. I truly do not feel that I am worthy of such a piece of beauty. You are the true poet and you continue to show that. I am just some guy that writes what I see and feel. I feel blessed to have you as a friend and as someone that is an inspiration to me and so many others. Your views on others and the world you see is nothing short of amazing. You once again have give a part of yourself to another. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am kind of at a lost for words. I know that is a first. LOL

Thank you and bless you.

What a nice tribute and so cleverly written, as well! I'm sure Robert is honored (well, that's what he says below. lol.) There is a contest to write about your fav cafe writer. I hope you do enter! This is very tender and the title is so perfect.

I'm beginning to love the idea of the word poet. i always dispised it for some reason. you always like here about them in English class..but how does others know that you are one..
i guess its basically what you said here.

And, I guess its a term of respect, seeing as you have written this as tribute to one on this very website.
very insightful and i liked it.

I love tributes! They are a great way to make special people feel really special. I am glad that somebody took the time to do a tribute to Robert - he well deserves it. He has helped me start to spread my wings as an aspiring poet standing on the shoulders of giants.

Wonderful topic, and wonderful result!
