The Cowboy

The Cowboy

A Chapter by Emily B

He doesn't roam

the open range

but still imagines

a world without fences.

Content in his own skin

he prefers the company

of John Wayne,

his sweat-stained hat

and his old paint horse.

Hhaha Em... I named my cow after my best friend Amanda.. Yep,, soooo many people think thats so awful, how could I name the cow after my best friend? Easy peesie when the cow came home in the back of the car soooo little and Amanda poped over the same day and said ohhhhhhh is more little than I am,,, she's so cute, I thought yeah, Amanda moo LOLOLOL... Amanda is still 4 foot nothing and the cow is still shorter, just heavier,.,. I like it Em, a little different to here but the essence is still simmilar it least I think so.

Em....How dare you question whether being named after a cow is a compliment !!! You know around here it is the highest compliment you can receive. I think we have an Emily right now. I'm sure your cowboy thought it was a compliment, too. I like this piece. I think you are holding back some emotion though. As you said, it will evolve, as you get more comfortable with it. I wouldn't change a thing, just wait until the rest comes along.

You are in touch with your heart here and it feels as if you are touching mine too. This is so well crafted it feels like you have written it for me, which is a fine achievement. I'm working backwards on these chapters too so it's a little more interesting. I have no idea where it'll go.

Walking backwards, out of the lime light, bowing gracefully, imagining a farewell kiss on the lips of a woman who always beckoned him forward, resting finally in his humbly spirited boudoir, ladened with all that has ever occurred in his heart, but totally unburdened.

You may as well of wrote that; it certainly didn't exist before coming to read your words. You are bringing me back to the world I so love to be in.

You're such a gift.

It's worthy of your pen and naming a cow after you...hmmmm that's a puzzler. ;)

Thanks for the send. Your words ring true...truly.
