Success

Success

A Poem by Emily B
"

in pursuit of the Magnum Opus

"

as I am a child of the Universe,

I choose

to converse with angels.

Someday

I will learn

the powers that define

true grace.

I will be

my own Greatest Work

when I surrender.

I was moved by your poem and few I've read do that to me. I got choked up: one of the proofs for me that a poem holds a universe of emotion is that it can race my heart, blur my eyes, give a tremble to my lip. And this poem did that for me. And you end it with the word "surrender," which is the door through which you finally enter to learn all the answers that once clouded your mind.

Great piece.. to have what we want most we must surrender ourselves.. often power and greatness is associated with strength and surrender is seen as weakness, but to be great we must recognize our flaws.. how else could we work to improve upon them and make ourselves the best we can be? Simple words in the right hands can be extraordinary.

i love the images in this and the attainment of perfection toward
surrender. An elegant, precise poem that is a pleasure to read.

wonderful, Emily. To converse with angels... "I will learn

the powers that define

my being." ------this is what I call strength. This forcefullness is the ultimate way..

I like your solution and also the last line... I believe this!!

What a heart warming, soul-searching poem

Short and to the point, with just enough room to allow imagination to take hold

Nicely done

I have read this before, but apparently I did not review. Surrender is a powerful word, as I am sure you are aware. Enjoyed this powerful poem.
