At 6 A.M.

Shower, Dress,

Go To Work

Come Home, Cook,

       Read My Poems

And Go To Bed

 

You Have A Husband

Who Works 9 To 5

    And Takes

Out The Trash, Mows The Lawn,

     And Fixes

Broken Things

 

You Answer Your Phone

               When

It Rings

 

 

And Talk About

The Dinners

You Have Planned

For The Week

 

You Will Live

A Long Life

And Be Content

 

While I Write

About The Voices

And The Lives

  I Never Could

Maintain

 

Chasing Ideas

Out The Door

Along With My

Husband's

Who Go On

         To Marry

A Woman

Just Like You
