Floor

Floor

A Poem by Emily

Love is a biological reaction

     So powerful it bursts

Out of me

Like a meteor shower

  Dancing in the room

  Until my feet

       Get off the floor

          Then

Insecurity floods my mind

(biblical proportions)

  I question every thought

Nearly every word

   That drowns in my mind

   Flashes of Black

Panic

       Attack

A war starts

I think of all of the reasons

I should run like hell

Maybe throw a punch or two

For him making me feel like this

             Blame

Everything that must be wrong

    His perception

of me,

         of himself,

                    of life,

                         of death,

of god,

           of the universe,

of poetry,

   of music,

of art,

    of kindness or

                           cold

               indifference

It always ends this way
