Upon Finally Finding The Key To A House I No Longer Live In

Upon Finally Finding The Key To A House I No Longer Live In

A Poem by Emily

Running Against The Black Self

Created

   Cloud-Like-Gravity

Loose Shoe Laces

   Come Undone

Tripping Me

Up-Like-Obsessive

Lust In A Daydream

   From A Memory

(Now I Wish I Had

Not Drank So Much

   Wine)

There Were Bruises

   On Your Arms

Smaller Than My Purple

Tender Swollen

Thighs-Like-Magic

Paint

   That Does Not Dry

Although I Will Never Tell You

                       Such-A-Thing

Now

                 My Bare Feet Move

Faster And Faster

   In 90 Degree Heat

Sun Bronzing My Pale Skin

    Leg Muscles

Tightening

              Balancing

Mind-Like-Body

     Sweat Soaked Shirts

                 Sticking To My Back

I Swear I Can Feel Your Teeth In My Lip

      5 More Miles

             Maybe 10

                       Tomorrow
