Do not

Do not

A Poem by Duckey

Do not share your fear
Or your worries
Or your pain
With me any longer
If you are only waiting
Poised to strike
For the moment when
The sun is low enough
For the shadows to disappear
As i will not spend my life
Biting at tires
And fishing in dry lakes
For the hope of trying to find the corner
In a circular room
Or the person you once were
Before you became a child of the fear
We all have inside of us
Of the monsters in the shadows
And the cracks in our hearts
After you bargained with them
In a game of poker
