UNNAMEDA Poem by Emperfection isn't all it's cracked up to bePerfection is overrated The body we see With the flawless skin and perfect smile Is a vessel for pain.
“Perfection” hides everything That we do not want the world to see It hides the unpleasant, the broken dreams It hides what we never were...perfect.
If perfection existed Then wars won’t be fought And battles won And people wouldn’t be sad.
I strive for perfection I strive for a goal that seems impossible Because everyone around me Sees what they think I am...perfect.
If I were perfect Then my tears Would have no reason And my anger would be non-existent And all my days will be laughter.
You put me on this pedestal That is too high for me to get off of And if I fall even once I ruin what was once...perfect.
I am a human being I am perfectly imperfect I mess up and start again Because that is what humans do.
I am not an object for your fascination I am not an anomaly I do not want to be who you want me to be I do not want to be...perfect. © 2015 Em |
