That was then.

And this is me.

I've grown much more that you thought I would

You let me go

When you thought you should.

But I am better now

I am not a waste

Happily, I fill up my space

I am color

But you don't see.

You no longer know

The real me.

You called me broken

You said ‘goodbye’

Then I broke the cocoon 

So I could fly

See what you’re missing?

Oh, wait.

You don't.

You’re miles away

Across a moat

Of walls and sea 

And man made distance

I won't try to cross

I have no persistence

I thought I would

But feelings fade

I’ve changed my plans

I’ve changed my ways

I'm better off without you

Don't you see?

I’ve grown and flown

And this is me.
