Waterfall

Waterfall

A Poem by J.Nico

Dripping tears from high
falling in a straight line
where I find written
the swirling emotion
restless in my chest.

Each heartbeat sparks a rainbow
as if the waterfall was flint
and I stone turning to sand
as the time rages endlessly
burning every shape from me...

and there comes the wind
to scatter my thoughts
through layers of existence,
the breath of dreams untold
whispering wisps of gold...

fading water vapor in wet tendrils
dispersing the color and the memory,
the disquiet self is a blur
turning end over end with no end,
the souls quest more than self pretend...

the rain suddenly joins the fray
splashing everywhere everything to grey,
but does it really fall from high
or does all rise up to meet each drop
in a dashing flight or a gentle hop...

and still the flow is ever constant,
a timeless when and a directionless where,
the mist of thoughtless emotions
gathering thicker and thicker
leaving me behind as the speaker.

Great imagery and metaphor here. I liked your vivid description especially where the rain joins the waterfall. Awesome piece...
