If My Life Was A Fantasy

If My Life Was A Fantasy

A Poem by S.C.
"

I dislike reality.

"
I can pretend,
That I'm okay.
I can pretend,
That you don't hurt me.
But everyone sees that this love is killing me.

So I'll stay up for hours,
But never come to a conclusion.
So I'll cry for hours,
But it doesnt take away the pain.

I can easily forgive,
But I'll never forget.
This pain will forever haunt me.

I can believe everything is alright,
But deep inside I know it's not.

In my fantasy,
We love each other endlessly.
In this fantasy is where I'll remain,
For it is much better than the reality.

If life was a fantasy,
I would live happily ever after.

This is fantastic, I love the idea of escaping from reality. You captured it well!

Thank you for reading.
I like how straightforward this is. But I think an important element of poetry writing comes with figurative language. While straightforward is a simple and effective style, try "beating around the bush," as it were. Nice subject though, I think we can all relate to it.
