An entry for a 13-word story contest

“Once upon a time, there was a couple who lived happily ever after.”

Author's Note

Just kidding :) there’s no such contest. This thing’s been running around in my head like a trapped mouse, for days. I had to uproot it. Oof! I feel better, now.
Truth is, I know the beginning and end of this most interesting story but, for the life of me, I can’t remember what’s in-between.

Certainly, a fairy tale. For this story to seem true--in any other context--would require heavy drug usage "in-between."
Human love is quite conditional; not an ever-after deal but more like for-as=long-as-it-lasts.
Now, I know you meant this one-liner to be amusing, Woody--and it is.
My problem was coming up with enough stuff to fill this annoying little rectangle.

haha that's the lady but the man gave up cutting his toenails in bed. anyway there were some happy moments too but the details elude me. so I made up the shortest fairy tale ever.

well I don't like them at all. they're no stories and no contests, for me. but that gave me this idea which kept nagging at me for days. I almost didn't post it and then I thought what the hell! let's see if it tickles a few people. the idea is to jump from once upon a time to ever after. I guess it is disappointing but then it IS a matter of opinion.
