The light brought up salvation.

CHAPTER 1: THE DARK WORLD

A small fire light the space where the two people are and around them are nothing but rocks. Stella sat on a lump of rock while she unpack the cake she just bought while she waited for the boy to wake up.

"Hey, wake up. I brought  you some cake." an excited voice woke up the fainted boy who was just a moment  ago was constricted by chains. The boy slowly sits after hearing the girl's voice.

"what happened?"

"well, you fainted before you can get over to the other side"

"I can't remember a thing." the boy put his hand on his forehead, trying to remember things.

"Don't think to much, here have some of this" Stella offers a slice of her strawberry cake by handing him a plate.

"what is this thing" It looks weird"

"Hey! If someone gave you some food just take it and say thanks! " the small fireball burst violently.

"ye~yes! Thank you miss Stella" the boy quickly shove the cake on his mouth then suddenly tears flows down from his eyes.

"So good! Its taste weird but I like it!"

"In my world, cakes are very special. I'm really surprised you really lived here"

"What? so now you believe me?" the boy asked after  wiping his lips covered in cream.

"well you see,  If you are from a lower world going to a higher one is forbidden. It's a universal law and can only be permitted if you go to the Dimensional Gates which are put to all the Dimensions by the Great gods long ago. If you try to go without approval from the gatekeepers, then a constriction spell is activated, you will be force to be chained down." Stella explained.

"so I was chained down and fainted? so that is what just happened." The boy agreed.

"But something like living here is just impossible. we should go and ask the gatekeeper here to ask if you are allowed to go to the Human world."

Stella is thinking seriously so that she can bring this boy to his professor.

"Well, if you really want me to come then I'm fine with it"

It was his first encounter to see someone and the boy is excited to go. Who knows how many years it will  be again before seeing another chance.

"By the way, you still haven't told me your name?" Stella ask with curiosity.

"I don't know, I can't remember. Do I have a name?" the boy was in pain as he tries to remember his identity.

" Its okay. Don't force yourself, will know it when we ask the Gatekeeper. As for time being I'll name you something"

Stella starts to think of a good name for the boy and when she looks up in the sky of the dark world,

" I got it! you will be Night for now on! It is very calm name." Stella happily named the boy Night.

The smile on her face brought a sudden warm feeling and with her bright blue eyes showed such beauty that even the glittering diamonds in the sky can't even compare. Was it her beauty that brings such emotions or was it her cheering voice? In just a moment of seconds that the black and white color of this dark world was showered down with colors of affections.   

The boy's eyes suddenly put tears that even he did not realize. How many years that he tried and look for this moment? The moment when he will find someone who can save him from this dead world.

"alright then! finish your cake and let's go to the Gate keeper." Stella summons her golden gate again.

"But you said I can't travel to other worlds?

"who says I can only use this for that? do you want to walk there for three days?" Stella holds the boy's hand as she pulled him to the gate.

"Then we are here!" In an instance, the two was already in front of the gigantic steel gate of a very tall tower.

"that was fast. so that was how traveling trough space feels like." the boy was fascinated.

The steel gate of the tower  is  shaped of a square with a scale of 50 feet. The tower is on a floating rock above a dark and wide bottomless hole. It stretches to unknown heights and as if it was endless, the top is unseen. Ancient swords and other weapons and armors scattered in front of the tower  as if a warning to the people who dares to cross the gate without permission.

"well what are we waiting for? let's go and ask the gate keeper!" Stella looks at Night as she lead the way in front of the gate. When they get nearer the steel gate a black smoke formed in front of them. The black smoke formed into a black cloak and inside the cloak was a skeleton.

"who dares to land his feet in front of the great gate?" a low and scary tone of voice came out of the black cloaked skeleton.

"Are you the gate keeper?" Stella asked.

"Yes I'am. From the world of the old I'am Milindor and I hold the key to the human realm. Who are you two and what brings you here?" the skeleton introduce himself to the two.

"I'am Stella Bravehart and I came from the human realm to study and experience this world. We came here to seek answer from the gate keeper."

"I see, your crest in your shoulder says you are from the royal family. For your status alone I will accept questions. But I shall warn you, staying here at this dimensional gate for too long will slowly suck away your life force, for such gate like this was created for the gods." Milindor explained.

"Thank you for the warning, I wanted to ask if you know this human beside me and why can't he travel to the human realm?" Stella pointed at Night who is very nervous standing beside her.

The cloaked gatekeeper stares his hollow eyes in the boy.

"Hmmm, very interesting.'" Milindor touches his  chin with his skeletal hands as if he was very curious.

"His origin is not in this world, maybe he was cursed by a high level magic to make him stay here, Indeed very interesting." Milindor  answers.

"Can he be permitted to go back to the human realm?"

"Of course he can, He only need my approval and to prove that he came from the human realm, he must take a simple test." Milindor grinned.

"A test? what kind?" Stella questions.

"To prove himself to me, He shall speak and write the universal language of the Human race. It is the basic to know it ,if you are from there. Without the aid of U.C.D. If I ever to discover that you are trying to  transport lower life forms to a higher realm, then I shall throw him to the bottomless pit of the dark world." Milindor explained again.

""How can Night even do that! We only met this morning and it's only half a day! We are seriously in danger now!"" Stella's thought as she panic inside her head.

"I accept." Night answers without hesitation.

"Hey! what are you doing?" Stella asked Night in surprise.

Milindor stares again at the boy.

"Very well then, I shall take your U.C.D. and read this book to me" Milindor snatch aways Night's U.C.D and brought out an old book from his sleeves.

"Hey! who said you'll take the test! you...." Stella fainted.

"Stella!" Night catches her in his arms and ask Milindor.

"what happened to her!?"

"So her limit catches her? Boy as I have just said earlier, The gate suck away your life force. Quickly read the book's title and write your name in it. Then I shall bring you to the Temple inside the Bresian Empire." Milindor lend his old Quill for him to write.

Night quickly look at the book and then he made a quick review. He had memorized the entire language in the Bresian Empire by listening and by looking at Stella reading the book she brought. With no worries in his mind, Night reads out loud the title of the book.

"THE BOOK OF BEGINNINGS!" Night reads out loud and quickly writes his name at the page of it in Bresian letters.

"Here I'm done!" Night gave the book to Milindor who was watching him.

"YOU HAVE PASS THE TEST. Then you and that girl as I said be brought away from this gate." Milindor said in a loud low voice. He then opens the Book and reads it.

"I Milindor, keeper of the gate declares approval to Night, to go and travel to the Human realm."  The steel gate opens widely.

Stella and Night's body slowly fades away as the gate transfer them to the Temple of the goddess Alicia in the kingdom of Bresia.
