I hope life doesn't break you,

Whittle you away.

I pray you don't lose pieces of yourself,

A little every day.

I wish I could stop the pain,

Just will it all away.

I want to help you through things, 

Maybe dull the pain.

But through all life's troubles,

Your innocence may fade.

I can't always keep you laughing,

But I'll try anyway.

I know things seem fine for now,

But it'll hurt one day.

There won't be anything I can do to help,

Nothing for me to say.

But I swear you won't be alone,

I'll be here to stay.

Life will sometimes disappoint you,

It won't always go your way.

Please, don't let it get to you,

Don't let your skies turn grey.

I promise you won't be alone,

I'll help you find your way.
