The night you left

I see in my head

Your vow to keep me safe

Your lie of love for me

 

Each piece of trust

A small thread

That leads back to

Where I now lay

To keep me warm

To fight back my fears

That haunt my dreams

No more sweet warmth

I fear this cold

The dark will not leave

Really nice entry for the contest!
I am going to enter it too, but mine is not so good.. You worked it out really well, you don't even notice that there's such a restriction as only using monosyllabic words!
