Footprints in the Sand

we all leave a story behind us..........each pair of footprints cross with others some merge where we placed our feet directly as someone before us and some parts are lost forever to the unknown waters of the ocean.........

The more I take the more I leave

These are my footprints in the sand

Some are lost in foaming waves

They all lead to where I stand

 

I could look back and see my past

Leaving a trail to such despair

Or leave another step behind

To wash away without a care

 

Out here a tear could fall

With no one to see the curtained pain

The sand absorbs the tears

Leaving no sign of the silent strain

 

The sand slides in its millions beneath my feet

Leaving the only evidence I was here

Then the wind will blow it all away

Whispering a quite calming melody in my ear

 

I continue walking along the beach

Leaving a partial story to be told by demand

Most of it will be washed or blown away

But these are my footprints in the sand
