Poison Apple

Poison Apple

A Poem by Andrea
"

come and take a bite

"
Heart like an apple.
I take a bite.
Poisoned red lips,
skin of snow white.

I trusted a stranger,
with my love, with my life.
They handed me an apple
and I took a bite

Poisoned red lips
and eyes a blank stare.
I trusted a stranger
and my heart they did tear.

I die feeling ignorant,
stricken by true bliss.
I tried to love the stranger
that graced my poisoned lips.

Heart heavy, like a tombstone.
I say goodnight.
Life, a shiny red apple
taken away by a single bite.
