Black Mamba

Black Mamba

A Poem by Andrea
"

1/2 of this poem is about snakes, 1/2 of it is not.

"
Hiiisssssssssssssss.

Trailing through your arteries
like a snake in African grass.

The black mamba's venom
pierces through your soul
as you take a bite out of
your own lifeline.

Hiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssss.

Taste the poison.
Skin tingling, your eyes lose themselves.

Can you feel your brain cells
cling to your skull?
Can you feel it's fangs
as you decay?

You seize for a moment.
Trembling at the sight of
two beady black eyes
as they gaze right into your
final moments.

Hiiiiiisssssssssss.

You fall to the floor.

Pridefully the mamba
slithers away

to claim yet another life.
